Zayd Ibn Thabit رضي الله عنهwrote the following words to Ubayy Ibn K’abرضي الله عنه

‎”Allah made the tongue an interpreter of the heart. He made the heart a vessel that submits to the tongue. If the heart had been created at the side of the tongue, the word would be harmonious and the tongue would not have any error or def…ect. There is no discernement for a person whose tongue is not lead by his heart. If a person measures his word against his deed, the purpose for which he uttered the word will be achieved. Have you ever seen a stingier person than the one who is miserly with the deed?! This is because he puts his tongue before his heart. Will anyone respect a person who does not keep his words?! The one who sees imperfection of others and neglects his own imperfections is like someone who takes upon himself what is not required of him
